Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is ideal if you are aiming to overcome anxiety, depression, or stress. This program helps you relate to painful thoughts and feelings in a way that has less impact and influence on your daily life. This program is ideal if you are pursuing personal growth and want to learn how to align your life with your values, particularly if you are open to utilising mindfulness and acceptance to enable transformative change.

  • Introduction to ACT

  • Cognitive defusion
  • Values clarification
  • Committed action

Managing Adult Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Ideal if you experience ADHD-like symptoms such as difficulties with concentration, attention and impulse control. This program provides you with structured support and practical strategies to help you manage symptoms, improve focus, and enhance daily functioning. Suitable for adults and adolescents motivated to learn and apply new skills in a supportive environment.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) aims to help you manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress by developing practical skills to overcome negative thinking patterns. This program is ideal if you are ready to take proactive steps towards better mental health and well-being.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills - Foundation

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based program to help you tolerate intense feelings whilst learning to manage emotions and communicate your needs more effectively.  If you experience intense emotions or have difficulty managing relationships and are motivated to learn and apply DBT techniques, the practical skills you learn throughout this program can improve your emotional regulation and interpersonal relations.

The creative therapies program helps to improve your mental health through using art to work through emotional and psychological issues

Young @Heart

If you are aged 60 years and over and are experiencing adjustment difficulties, anxiety or depression, the Young @ Heart program uses cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) principles to provide you with practical strategies and support, to help you take proactive steps towards better mental health and well-being.

What will I learn?

Topics include:

  • Wellness strategies 
  • Expression of feelings
  • Coping with loss and change
  • Living with mental illness
  • Stress management, relaxation and mindfulness 

When is it held? 

  • Fridays, 10:00am to 1:15pm (8 weeks)

How to join

If you are interested in attending the day program, please call our allied health department on 1300 122 144 (option 3) or contact groups at kvl.groups@aurorahealth.com.au

How much does it cost?

When you attend a day program, you are admitted as a day patient. Depending on your level of cover, you may be able to claim your attendance through your health fund. We ask that you please confirm any applicable out-of-pocket excess or gap costs directly with Kellyville Private Hospital. If you are not covered through your health fund, a cost of $306 per session applies.
