We provide in-hospital treatment and day programs with the resources, education and clinical support to address your issues, misuse and dependency.
The CBT for OCD Program is based on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques applied specifically to the treatment of OCD. The program facilitates evidence-based Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy.
This eight-week program aims for individuals to learn practical CBT-based skills because some components aim to change behaviour and others aim to change cognitions. It teaches participants to use this knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate themselves to set goals and take action that enriches their life.
People who have been diagnosed with OCD will find this program to be useful in addressing their individual clinical needs. Day program participants report:
“It makes such a difference meeting other people suffering from the same symptoms. I never believed that there would be others with similar symptoms”.
The program also invites family members, parents and partners to meet with Professor Brakoulias and with each other to better understand OCD and how best to help their loved ones.
This structured and comprehensive OCD program operates under the guidance of Professor Vlasios (Bill) Brakoulias, who is a psychiatrist with international recognition for his research and clinical work in the field of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Prof Brakoulias completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists with and Advanced Certificate in the Psychotherapies in 2007 and was awarded a PhD by The University of Sydney for his research into obsessive-compulsive disorder in 2012.
