Support doesn't stop for the holidays

The holiday season is often described as a time for joy, connection and celebration. But for some people, this time of year can bring additional pressure, loneliness, anxiety or stress.

Expectations around family, relationships, finances and social commitments can feel overwhelming, while changes to routine can make it harder to maintain your mental health and recovery.

At Kellyville Private Hospital, support doesn’t stop for the holidays.

We remain open for in-hospital (in-patient) support throughout the holiday period, providing structured programs and a supportive environment for people who may need additional support at this time of year.

Our programs may be suitable for people who:

  • Are experiencing increased loneliness, anxiety, burnout, stress or concerns about relapse during the holiday season.
  • Want to develop practical skills to manage emotions, stress and potential triggers.
  • Would benefit from a structured and supportive environment to strengthen their recovery.
  • Want to build resilience and develop strategies to support their long-term mental health.

Self-Compassion Program

Our three-week Self-Compassion Program combines psychoeducation, therapy and reflection with practical strategies to help you recognise when you are struggling and learn to respond to yourself with greater understanding, kindness and support, rather than judgement or self-criticism.

What the program covers:

  • Compassion Training Skills: Learn practical techniques to develop self-kindness, manage difficult emotions and strengthen emotional regulation.
  • Understanding Your Brain: Explore how the brain’s threat, drive and soothing systems influence emotions and behaviour, and learn strategies to support everyday mental wellbeing.
  • Mindfulness: Develop mindfulness and self-compassion skills to build calm, increase feelings of safety and develop a more compassionate inner voice.
  • Strengthening Resilience: Learn strategies to manage self-criticism, reduce shame and respond more effectively to challenges, supporting recovery and long-term mental health.

When is the program held?

Thursday 17 December 2026 – Wednesday 6 January 2027
