Nadiah Karim is a Clinical Counsellor and registered Clinical Member of The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA). Nadiah is a SIRA-approved provider of psychological injury and return-to-work services within the NSW Workers Compensation scheme.
She has a particular interest in trauma recovery and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that supports individuals in processing and recovering from traumatic experiences, distressing memories, anxiety and other trauma-related difficulties.
In addition to EMDR, Nadiah integrates a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy, tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs, strengths and goals.
Alongside her private practice, Nadiah facilitates therapeutic groups within private psychiatric hospital settings and has developed narrative trauma-processing programs that support individuals in building self-compassion, emotional awareness, insight and acceptance.
Nadiah is also an academic and clinical placement supervisor within the Master of Counselling program at the University of Canberra, where she contributes to the training and development of emerging practitioners through a focus on trauma-informed and evidence-based care.
Committed to the value of early intervention, Nadiah is a qualified Circle of Security facilitator and Mental Health First Aid instructor. She works with parents and carers to strengthen relationships, build confidence, deepen their understanding of attachment needs and respond effectively to the challenges of parenting and mental health.
Known for her calm, warm and compassionate approach, Nadiah is committed to creating a safe and collaborative therapeutic environment where individuals feel understood, supported and empowered. She is passionate about helping people strengthen resilience, develop effective coping strategies, improve relationships and move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
