We engage with patients and their support network to give the Chief Executive Officer feedback about what the hospital does well and to offer suggestions for improvement. The Consumer Focus Group provides a forum for consumers to provide feedback on all levels of the care and service provision of the hospital and make recommendations for improvement. All patients and carers are invited to participate in the Group. Consumer Focus Groups are held at least three times a year.
All feedback that is received is compiled and presented at the Quality and Risk Committee meetings. The Quality and Risk Committee looks at the suggestions and provides a report that identifies all consumer and carer feedback as well as a response to feedback raised. This report is released several times a year with the latest version being available at the Consumer and Carer desk.
Our Consumer representative advocates for our patients and attends monthly patient and safety quality meetings with management as well as monthly nursing meetings.
