Professor Vlasios Brakoulias is a psychiatrist with international recognition for his research and clinical work in the field of obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. He is also a local expert who regularly gives lectures on anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress and related disorders, psychosocial aspects of treatment, prevention and early intervention of mental disorders and scientific publishing. Prof. Brakoulias enjoys teaching and is a Conjoint Professor with the School of Medicine and the Translational Health Research Institute of Western Sydney University and a Clinical Associate Professor with the Sydney School of Medicine of The University of Sydney. Prof Brakoulias has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles, has presented at numerous international conferences, and has served as the Editor in Chief of the medical journal called Australasian Psychiatry since 2014. Prof Brakoulias completed his Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists with and Advanced Certificate in the Psychotherapies in 2007 and was awarded a PhD by The University of Sydney for his research into obsessive-compulsive disorder in 2012.
